This week Mark and Seth sat down with Dr. David Floyd for a talk about his areas of study, his research into the Bigfoot phenomenon, Lizard Man, and Southern Bigfoot reports. David unleashes a handful of fascinating reports from South Carolina that are especially intriguing.
Disclaimer: there were some technical difficulties this week during the interview so some portions of the audio may drop out. Apologies but these things are beyond our control or that of the guests. Thanks for understanding.
David's bio follows...
Dr. David Floyd
David Floyd is a professor of English at Charleston Southern University. He has presented papers on monstrous figures in Gothic, medieval, and Victorian literature in England, Scotland, and the US. Steeped in the ghost stories and legends of coastal South Carolina, Floyd has a natural interest in Bigfoot and other cryptids that has led him to research the socio-religious and psycho-cultural aspects of the phenomena. Currently working on a Masters in criminology, Floyd is also interested in applying criminological theory to Bigfoot research. He is currently working on a book on the sociological and psychological facets of monsters and monstrosity, including a chapter based on his talk for this year’s conference, which seeks to articulate the implications of the creature’s existence and perhaps even broaden its meaning in our modern era.
